Brown offers programs of study leading to the PhD, ScM and AM degrees in Biostatistics.
The PhD program is designed to train independent researchers in statistical methodology for the
health sciences. The program typically takes 4-5 years to complete. Students receive full
support (stipend, tuition, health insurance). The masters programs are designed to provide
advanced training in theory and application of biostatistics for those working in both
professional and academic environments. These programs require 1-2 years to complete.
Partial financial aid is available in the form of tuition scholarships and research
apprenticeships. A fifth-year masters program for Brown undergraduates is also available.
